Short answer
Worked example
| You enter | Value |
|---|---|
| Power | 2,000 W |
| Hours used a day | 3 h |
6.00 kWh a day, 2190.0 kWh over 365 days
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| Energy a day | 6 kWh |
| Energy over the period | 2,190 kWh |
Show the working
- Energy a day: 2,000 W × 3 h ÷ 1000 = 6 kWh
- Over 365 days: 6 × 365 = 2,190 kWh
How it works
- Energy a day (kWh) = power (W) × hours a day ÷ 1000
- Energy over the period = energy a day × days
- Cost = energy × your unit rate (standing charges are not included)
We don't hold any electricity prices: enter the unit rate from your own bill.
